04.03.2013Safety authority TÜV-Süd certifies ACTech GmbH´s sustainable environmental and quality management systems
The environmental and quality management systems of ACTech have been re-certified by the safety authority TÜV-Süd. This renewed certification, according to the international standards ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001, is regarded as confirmation of the continuous and sustainable improvement of the environmental and quality management systems of ACTech. This standard is aimed at a comprehensive enhancement of the quality and sustainability of business practices. This improvement includes, for instance, production efficiency, supply chain management with regard to resource consumption, reduction of emissions, and worksite safety. In this context, TÜV-Süd evaluates not only whether specific standards are maintained, but also continuous refinement and the capacity to master future requirements for environmental and quality management systems. Since 2002, ACTech has been implementing certification programs on its own, which have been audited by independent authorities, such as TÜV-Süd. Thus, for more than 10 years ACTech has been meeting the stringent quality requirements of its international customers from the automotive industry and its suppliers.
"For many enterprises in the automotive industry, proof of having successfully received certification according to ISO 9001, in particular according to ISO/TS 16949 and the environmental standard ISO 14001, is a prerequisite for choosing a business partner. Certification provides solid evidence showing whether or not a partner company fulfills strict requirements in terms of environmental protection, quality, efficiency and innovation capability", explains Jens-Erik Thuma, head of quality management at ACTech GmbH, in describing the significance of these international standards. For this reason, at ACTech, the certification program and its guidelines are an integral part of company policy and are applied company-wide, from the correct handling of hazardous materials and resources to the application of the latest production- and quality assurance methods, as well as to the efficient cycling of the organization?s management, o comprehensive training of employees, and, to reports in all fields.
This certification was initially performed by TÜV-Süd. "TÜV-Süd is an experienced partner in certification with tremendous expertise, especially in processes typical for our business line", Jens-Erik Thuma outlines. Moreover, the proximity of TÜV-Süd provides for efficient and goal-oriented cooperation.
14.05.2012Auditing to the AEO/F
After several months of preparations, on May 2, 2012, ACTech successfully passed the audit by the main customs office, Erfurt, for the "Admitted Economic Partner" or AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) status. Already since middle of 2011, the preparations ran. This required extensive updating in the shipping department, including video control and separate storage of aerial cargo.
With 60% of export interest, the quick sending of ready products is an important aspect to satisfy customer around the world. As of May 21, 2012, this becomes considerably easier by the status of the "Admitted Economic Partner". The AEO certificate AEO/F "Customs-Juridical Simplifications / Security" is the most comprehensive status and also contains the status AEO/C and AEO/S. Thanks to extensive planning, the audit was passed in the first attempt and without divergences.
With the VO (EC) No. 648/2005 from April 13, 2005 in article 5a of the customs code (VO (EEC) No. 2913/92), the status of the (ZWB) (English: AEO) was implemented on June 11, 2005.
In some parts, the ZWB is similar to the US-American "Customs-Trade Partnership against Terrorism" (C-TPAT).
The status of "Admitted Economic Partner" enables companies within the European Union, in a simplify procedure, without renewed extensive examination, approvals for customs procedures with commercial relevance and other simplistic procedures to attain.
In this respect, the application of uniform standards is with the allocation of the status of great importance for the European Union. The approval of this status requires extensive conditions concerning reliability, solvency, the previous observance of statutory provisions, and, if necessary, the fulfillment of certain safety standards.
